Tumour Excision

Procedure: During surgery, the surgeon removes the tumor, which may involve taking out nearby teeth, tissue, and parts of the jawbone. The excised tissue is sent to the lab for examination. A pathologist provides a diagnosis during the procedure, allowing immediate action based on the findings.
Clinical Application: Jaw tumor excision is essential for both benign and malignant tumors. Benign tumors, such as ameloblastomas and central giant cell granulomas, can still cause significant swelling and tooth displacement. Malignant tumors require prompt treatment to prevent spread to other body parts.
